Even though this picture is a cartoon, I feel as though it has a large amount of meaning to the main focus of our blog. Children all over Africa are being forced to fight in the war of terrorism and they are at such a young age that their childhood is taken away completely just as you can see in this image here. Children as young as 5 years old are being forced to become child soldiers and they have no chance of getting out of it. Just like in the book we read in history called A Long way Gone, Ishmael Beah was a part of terrorism in Africa at only the age of 12. He was forced to become a child soldier and had no way of getting out of the situation. His entire childhood was taken away and he could not even look back on decent memories as a child because they were all striped away from his mind. Being a child soldier is not something any young girl or boy should have to go through and these innocent children becoming a part of this war in Africa needs to come to an end.

  2. Wow... This picture is almost scary. I think the worst part is this isn't just happening to 1 child. This is happening to hundreds of thousands of kids all over the world. They are also is being used as weapons in terrorist attacks.

  3. I agree with Ben, many of the children that are forced into war do not get to experience things normal kids would experience. Their childhood is taken away from them and is replaced with a brain washed knowledge of what life would be like.
