Issues in Zimbabwe

Unfortunately in the country of Zimbabwe corruption amongst the government is causing Zanu-PF youths to rebel against senior party members.  Most of the attacking is being done through the public media rather than in violent ways. Even though these youths are a bit rash they are speaking out against things they feel are wrong and, taking a stand for something they strongly believe in. This is something that has been demonstrated throughout many different cultures when people come together to stand against something they feel is not right. Which is why I feel myself agreeing with some of the things the Zanu-PF youths are doing.

As a teenager in society I know that it’s hard to find your “identity” when previous generations are constantly trying to reinforce their values on you whether you agree with them or not. The Zanu-PF stands for Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front they basically are against many injustices that go on in the country. For instances four members of the group Oppah Muchinguri, Saviour Kasukuwere, Jonathan Moyo, and Patrick Zhuwao attacked president Emmerson Mnangagwa in the media. They accused senior party members of  being “evil and “disrespectful”. This situation is similar to the book “A Long Way Gone” the main character Ishmael Beah is traumatized by the rebels attacking his village and killing people. He is so against the rebels he joins the army against them participating in violent activities. Even though this isn’t the best solution to his problems but he was taking a stand against the rebels. Just like how the youth group doesn’t agree with how the government is now and, took a stand by attacking them publicly. As people we tend to come together in times of crisis, injustice, and learning. These are just one of the many examples of people unifying themselves for a common goal.

  1. In your post it says that they only attacked through media as opposed to physical attacks. I don't see that being a very effective method to "Get the job done". Anyone can say This is wrong and We need change but crying about it isn't going to do anything. The only way that they can actually accomplish anything is if they stand up for themselves and fight for what they believe.

  2. I agree to a certain degree I feel that their organization tries to approach situations peacefully and effectively as possible. I don't think anyone should be severely hurt or killed because of this cause their is already enough violence throughout the country. Plus I personally feel that its better to try and settle differences peacefully rather than violently all violence does is cause more unnecessary anger amongst one another.

  3. I praise the people for speaking out. In countries like that even thinking about could get you in prison or even death. This relates to many things that dealt with before for having trouble for stating your opinion.
