The Art of Dying

How amazing is the dark!
While you're sleeping in your bed
As you dream of angels flying
While the demon's at your head!

There is just no justifying
For the options at my hand
And a conscious that's denying
By your side is laying dead

It comes more and more surprising
As the ground is painted red
And a lustful passion rising
Coloring shades upon your bed!

I hold you close within my arms
Whispering softly in your ears
I will make your heart my charm
And decorate the sky with tears

Let me sing you a sweet lullaby
To calm away your chocking fear

"Close your eyes & go to sleep
There will be no more pain
Close your eyes I'll keep you safe
From a world that's so...insane"

I feel that this poem fits well with our topic of terror and fear.  This poem talks about how “Demons are in people’s heart” and that people are monster.  We really are.   We kill others for not agreeing with what we want.  We kill others about beliefs that we think are right and they think are wrong.  When there is a murder, the government needs to “sing you a sweet lullaby” so that we don’t cause chaos and a panic. We kill because we can…. And people are starting to enjoy it.

The murder rate is extremely high.  As of 2013, there were 2.5 million murders in the USA alone.  That doesn’t account for other countries.   The rate has gone down from previous years; however the population has skyrocketed so there were proportionately more murders in 2013 then 1990.  The numbers will just keep skyrocketing if we don’t do something to cause this.

Terrorism and the USA

The United States government is doing everything they can to protect the people.  They have set up divisions in the government dedicated to locating and eliminating threats to the government (Homeland Security).  They have spent hundreds of thousands of hours with the FBI trying to locate and eliminate threats.   Their only goal is to try to keep US safe.  However, in order for them to be 100% effective, we need to remain strong when there is a terrorist attack.

  6. The author of the poem did not have the attempt to rhyme, by more or less get there point across. The act of death can be brought on any at anytime. Its the influences that depend on how we act on it
