War and Terror
I think that
this picture is a perfect representation of what terror has on people. PEOPLE BECOME LUNATICS. They scream and shout at the top of their
lungs. This picture is a group of
people on a roller coaster screaming at the top of their lungs. The roller coaster is named “The Terror
Alert”. The funny thing about it is that
the people on the rollercoaster react the same way as when a terrorist attack
occurs. Whenever there is an attack, or
a raise in the threat level, everyone goes on a panic.
For those of
you that don’t know, the Threat Level is a system of colors that represent the
current security level, and the level of risk.
The system is made up of 5 colors which are green, blue, yellow, orange,
and red (green being best situation and red being the worst”. Every level has a specific set of security
measures and regulations. For more
info, go to http://www.usasecure.org/threat.php.
The
situation in Africa is similar to this image.
In 2013, there was a terrorist attack in an African mall that killed 67
people. The killing spree had one goal
and one goal only. It was for al-Shibob
to say “We're not done yet.” The military has been trying to get control of them but it hasn’t
been working. The people of Africa
reacted the same way as the people of the roller coaster. They panicked and screamed after the initial drop.
Now it is like the ending of a
rollercoaster and they are getting over it.

Terrorism
plays a big effect on people all over the world. If a mall gets bombed in Africa, then people
in America react to it and get in a panic.
We need to try to remain calm and not let the terrorists see our
fear. By doing that, we are letting them
win.
The connection made between the two completely different cultures is correct! Terrorism occurs everywhere not just in the United States its a wide spread epidemic that has become increasingly violent as the years go on by. The link below gives a little more insight on why terrorist have their mindset.

Thanks for the link. I feel it really brings the post together.
ReplyDeleteI like the use of the roller coaster to represent the terror alert. How it changes at different levels and unpredicable to the rider. The terror alert was probably only at an all time high when September 11th happened.
ReplyDeleteNo problem sometimes it becomes difficult for the average person to understand why terrorist do the things they do. The article simply explains the way they process and view life.
