"What You need to know About Terrorism in Africa"
The document that I selected discusses al-Shabob (the terrorist group) and its history. Let me start by saying what al-Shabob translates to. It translates to "the youth". They only have one goal, which is to inforce Islam's law. al-Shabob came into power in 2006 when Ethiopian troops attacked the ICU, leaving the nation vulnerable. al-Shabob is a terrorist group that was built of Al-Qaida. They are "much smaller but much more radical" (Peter Pham). Al-Qaida is the baseline of all of their schemes. They have leaders from al-Qaida and people that have trained from them. I see the origin of the terrorist group, but would the group relate to the one in A Long Way Gone
ReplyDeleteI think this does relate to the rebel groups in "A Long Way Gone". Both groups have similarities and a common goal.
